A locksmith quote depends on the work at your specific door, lock or vehicle. A price for a key copy is not a price for a lost transponder key, and a rekey is not the same as replacing damaged hardware. For a quote checklist and pricing factors, see our pricing page; call (720) 710-3141 for a quote for your situation.
What goes into a quote
Service call: Ask whether travel or an on-site visit is included and whether it changes by location or time.
Labor: A lockout, rekey, repair and installation involve different work. Ask what labor the estimate includes.
Hardware and keys: A new cylinder, deadbolt, key blank or fob can change the total. Confirm whether parts are included.
Vehicle programming: Some replacement keys need vehicle-specific programming. Share the year, make, model and whether you have a working key.
Time and location: Let the dispatcher know where the work is needed and when you can provide access; request the applicable total for that visit.
Ask for an itemized total before authorizing work
Describe the problem and ask what can be quoted by phone versus what needs inspection. Confirm service call or travel, labor, hardware, key count, cutting or programming, taxes and any other applicable charges. Compare quotes for the same scope rather than assuming parts or additional keys are included. If the scope changes after inspection, ask for a revised total and authorize any additional work before it starts. Request a receipt showing the completed work.
Prepare useful details
For a house, identify the affected door and whether you have a working key. For a business, tell us who is authorized to approve access. For a vehicle, provide its year, make, model and key status. Photos of the lock or hardware can help explain the request, but avoid sharing access codes online. We serve Denver, Lakewood and Aurora from our Denver location, 6 AM–11 PM daily. Contact us to discuss the job.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't every locksmith job have one fixed price?
The service call, work required, hardware, key programming, time and location can differ. Ask for the total applicable to your job.
Should I approve extra work during a visit?
Ask for an updated itemized total first, then authorize only the work you want completed.
